Over the past couple month’s, Longboat Engineered System’s team of hard-working engineers (bios for each team member to come) have been developing a new product! Enabled with machine learning and computer vision, this device uses sensors to scan and tally on-shelf inventory. This device is intended for both distribution centers and retail centers.

Currently, the team is working on a prototype as a way to validate the technology before coming up with delivery vectors other than devices mounted directly to shelving. You can see the first iteration of our design in the header image above! We plan on making all of our computer vision and machine learning models open source so other companies have a fighting chance.

Prototyping is going well! We anticipate that the fabrication of resin printed parts will begin this November, with more of the intelligent software suite soon to follow. More to come!
